On 21 May 2026, Carillon Aparthotel celebrated its grand opening. The event was attended by business partners and invited guests, while welcome speeches were delivered by the Mayor of Riga Viesturs Kleinbergs, Chairman of the Board of AmberStone Hotels Jānis Vilisons, Chairman of the Board of construction company Pillar Contractor Jānis Lāčaunieks, as well as the hotel’s architect, Vilnis Mičulis.
Carillon Aparthotel is located in the historic centre of Riga – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – on one of the oldest streets in Old Riga, at 13 Pils Street. This allows hotel guests to easily reach the city’s most important landmarks, including the Presidential Castle, museums, cultural venues, and the most popular leisure destinations in Old Riga.
Carillon Aparthotel offers 61 apartments, ranging from compact Superior rooms to Suite apartments that can fit a whole family. Each apartment has been designed with comfort and practicality in mind, featuring a fully equipped kitchenette, a functional workspace, and a thoughtfully planned layout, all of which create a pleasant sense of home comfort. The aparthotel is particularly well suited to travellers planning a longer stay in Riga.

The hotel has been created within a carefully restored pre-war Art Nouveau building with a rich history – first mentioned in state archives as early as 1870. Over the years, the building has served various purposes: it once was a printing house and later became a residential rental property, undergoing several transformations. Today, the historic building has been given a new life as a modern aparthotel.
The interior preserves historic wooden structures and tiled stoves, while original features such as ceramic tiles, staircase railings, and decorative details have also been restored, creating a truly distinctive atmosphere.
During the reconstruction process, particular attention was paid both to preserving the building’s historic character and to implementing modern technical solutions. The original layout of the building was retained, while each space was given its own individual character. As a result, every apartment in the hotel has a unique identity – each room tells its own story.
The interior design incorporates Art Deco and Art Nouveau influences, natural materials, and a carefully curated colour palette, creating an atmosphere that is both elegant and welcoming. Sophisticated neutral shades and warm earthy tones, complemented by dark accents, give the interiors a calm and refined character. Carefully selected materials such as natural wood, soft fabrics, and elegant furnishings further enhance the sophisticated ambience of the spaces. The aparthotel is also equipped with an energy-efficient heating system, upgraded internal engineering networks, as well as silent ventilation and air-conditioning systems.
The reconstruction and redevelopment of the Carillon Aparthotel building took approximately two years, and the hotel welcomed its first guests in December 2025.

The opening of Carillon Aparthotel marks the next step in the development of the Keystone Collection hotel chain, launched in 2023. The collection currently comprises two hotels in Old Riga – Konventa Sēta Hotel and Carillon Aparthotel. Located just a few minutes’ walk from one another, the two properties naturally complement each other: while Konventa Sēta Hotel is more focused on a traditional hotel experience, Carillon Aparthotel is an ideal choice for guests planning a longer stay in Riga, e.g., several weeks or even months.
The interiors and design of both hotels were created by Latvian architects and designers, while the reconstruction and restoration works were carried out by the team at Pillar Contractor, with particular attention paid to preserving the historical heritage of the buildings.
