Our apartment hotel is located in the historic part of the city, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It sits in a reconstructed pre-war Art Nouveau building, on one of the oldest streets in the Old Town – Pils Street, which begins at the peaceful Pils Square and ends at the bustling Dome Square.
The Carillon Aparthotel building was first registered in state archives in 1870, when it originally housed a two-storey building. However, its current appearance was shaped around 1905, when the legendary Latvian merchant Aleksandrs Mencendorfs commissioned Baltic German architect Alfred Aschenkampff to create a unified five- and six-storey building complex here. Over the years, the building has served various purposes – as a printing house, a rental property, and has undergone other changes. Today, it has been transformed into a refined apartment hotel that will open its doors in the autumn of 2025, following the meticulous reconstruction of the building.
